Iran ‘Bridge of Sleep’ to screen at Toronto film event

Iranian movie ‘Bridge of Sleep’ has been selected to screen at the Regent Theater in Toronto, Canada.

Iran director Oktay Baraheni’s debut film will be played in a special screening session at the Regent Theater, a venue for art-house films in Toronto’s Canadian Cultural Center September 16, 2017.

Iranian actor Houman Seyyedi will join the event to answer questions along with some of the film crew after the showing.

The intense social drama is a reimagination of Russian author Fyodor Dostoyevsky’s ‘Crime and Punishment’.

‘Bridge of Sleep’ is about Shahab, who is about to get married. He enters a business deal along with his friend in order to help his financial situation. However, he loses all his money and finds himself in financial hardship.

The film received rave reviews after being featured at the 35th Fajr Film Festival in Iran.
